The widening improvements are the latest chapter in the history of this busy commuter route into the city.

The road and structures along the route have evolved to cope with changes in demand, and increasing traffic levels.

Across the county, Devon County Council maintains over 3,000 bridges. More than 50 of these are along the course of the River Exe alone and some of the key crossings are on Bridge Road. With so...

Insurers report that arson costs over £1bn in fire-related claims each year. Damage to property, business interruption and other inconvenience caused by arson is significant. Deliberate fires cost a vast...

There's still time to register to vote for this year's elections.

People have until 18 April to ensure they are on the electoral register. Failure to do so will mean they will not be able to vote.

For many parts of the UK, Good Friday will bring plenty of dry weather, with variable amounts of cloud allowing for sunny spells. Temperatures will react accordingly and with highs of 14 or 15 Celsius likely, it will feel pleasant, especially in the sunshine. However, there may be some lingering rain in the south-east at first and it will turn cloudier in the north-west later, ahead of some wet and windy weather.

On Saturday a band of often heavy rain is going to move from west to east across the county, with the chance of some snow over the high ground in Scotland. It will also be...

Dogs Trust Ilfracombe is appealing for homes for a litter of three sweet-enough-to eat puppies who were born totally deaf.

The adorable 10-week-old Collie puppies, two boys and one girl, have been named after popular chocolate bars Aero, Wispa and Kinder because they arrived at the rehoming centre just before Easter.

The cheeky bundles of fun found themselves at Dogs Trust as an unwanted litter, which staff suspect may be due to the fact that they suffer from congenital deafness. This condition is not uncommon in white dogs and, sadly, often results in many puppies such as...
