The Pavey Group’s ‘Donate & Do Good Day’ for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) was a resounding success.

The day was held in Exeter on Tuesday 25 October and the idea was, as many busy professionals don’t have time to take their unwanted items to charity shops, the team from Pavey Group would visit the businesses to pick up collections instead!

Outsourcing giant, Sitel, is creating 150 jobs at its Exeter call centre as it gears up its customer service offering ready for the Christmas rush.

The company today revealed it plans to create 1100 part and full time jobs nationwide.

The new jobs for Exeter are as a result of Sitel’s work with leading on-line retailers and the roles include sales and customer service advisors providing on-line customer support such as web chat.

Bakes and bargains for Halloween at FORCE shop

The FORCE Cancer Charity shop in Heavitree will have some bewitching bargains to celebrate Halloween on Saturday (October 29).

Every piece of clothing in the Fore Street store will be on sale at half price and there will also be homemade cakes for sale.

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is the top ambulance service in England for running the most clinical research studies to inform and improve patient care and treatments in the future.

County council calls for pavement parking powers

Devon County Council is calling on Government to revisit proposals that would give the authority more powers to deal with motorists parking on pavements.

On December 4 last year the House of Commons withdrew a motion for a bill to end Pavement Parking.

Powers to deal with obstruction of pavements currently rest with the Police and not highways authorities like Devon County Council.

In the last 12 months there has been 788 complaints made about pavement parking in Devon.
