A Crown Prosecution Service report on crimes against women shows that 206 people were prosecuted for disclosing private sexual images without consent in the year 2015 -16, ending March. Abuse online is pervasive, and young victims are particularly vulnerable.

New leisure complex wins support

Exeter City Football Club and Exeter Chiefs have united to give their support to plans for a major new leisure complex in the city centre.

St Sidwell’s Point, an environmentally-friendly and sustainable building at the heart of the new Grecian Quarter, has been given a ringing endorsement by both clubs.

Police hunt for Bovey man's attackers

Police in Teignbridge are appealing for information in relation to an incident that occurred at an address in Fore Street, Bovey Tracey on Sunday 28th August 2016, between 10.30pm and 11.00pm.

During the incident the victim, a 31 year-old man, was subjected to a violent assault inside the premises and sustained substantial head injuries which required hospital treatment.

The two male suspects who were dressed in black are believed to have made off along Fore Street, in possession of numerous items of stolen property including mobile phones and a tv. It is possible they left...

Police are appealing to the public to help them locate 37-year-old Margaret Elston, who is missing from Exeter.

Margaret is described as a white woman, approximately 5”7 tall and of slim build with long mousey brown/blonde hair.

Officers do not know what she was wearing but she favours hooded tops often Animal brand, black jeans or tracksuit trousers with black Ugg boots, and often wears a black waterproof coat or gillet.

Margaret was last seen on 23rd August in Exeter and it is unusual for her to be missing for so long without being in contact with her family....

Police are investigating a robbery at knifepoint which took place on Cowick street, Exeter.

A 25-year-old man was walking down an alleyway on Buddle Lane near the junction of Dunsford Hill when he was approached by an unknown man.

The offender threatened the victim with a knife and walked him to a cash point at the Tesco Metro on Cowick Street. The victim was forced to withdraw £50. The offender then took the bank card and withdrew a further £120, after which the victim managed to retrieve his bank card and ran away.

The Devon County Agricultural Association (DCAA), organisers of the Devon County Show and Westpoint Arena, today announced the election of John Lee OBE FRAgS as its Chairman of the Board of Management.

Mr Lee has been involved with the County Show for many years as a steward, chief steward and previously held the position of chairman for seven years.

2,000 children reported to police for indecent images

More than 2,000 children were among those reported to police for indecent images offences over the last 3 years, according to recent figures.

As a result, the RSPCA is urging parents to talk to children about the risks of sexting and sharing nude selfies on social media as this may be partly fuelling the rise in offences by under-18s.

Earlier this year, the charity carried out research by conducting interviews with 32 parents and carers . This was followed by an online survey of 1000 parents and carers from across the UK.
