As 2018 winds to a close and the new year awaits, now is the perfect time to start thinking about what you want in your future and making these plans a reality. The start of a new year is a fantastic opportunity to hit the reset button and make the changes you want to see, enriching your life and learning new things.

To help you get started, this little article will give you some ideas of new years resolutions you can take on to improve your life and have lots of fun along the way.

A whole new you

A popular new year’s resolution is changing your diet so that you have more energy, look great, and get a bit more healthy, but many people don’t know where to start with this and thus have a lot of difficulty adjusting.

One option is to visit www.resultplan.com and learn more about getting diet food delivered. This takes a lot of the hard work out of dieting and is a perfect option for people who work full-time and perhaps don’t have the hours to spare preparing food and looking up recipes, allowing you to ease into your resolution.

Expand your world view

If you want to use the new year as an opportunity to get back into learning, then taking up the study of a new language is a great idea. Of all the many reasons to learn a new language, one of the main benefits is being able to speak to a whole new range of people and learn about a new culture.

Always keep learning

A great idea is to get together a list of essential books to read in 2019  and make a resolution to get through every single one by the end of December. Some ideas include:

  • The Testaments by Margaret Atwood
  • The Night Before by Wendy Walker
  • What a Time to be Alone by Chidera Eggerue
  • The Outsider by Stephen King

The key thing to remember here is that is doesn’t matter what you read. Don’t feel intimidated or as though you have to always read ‘classics’ in order to make your reading worthwhile. Books should be for everyone, including you!

Everyone has a story

If you enjoy reading already, then a resolution you might like is making the commitment to write your own novel and have the first draft done by the end of the year. Everyone has a story within them, and this will give you a great hobby to pursue in your spare time.

Broaden your horizons

A final idea is to look up new places to visit in 2019 and try to go on mini-breaks to at least two. In conjunction with this, you can make a resolution to cut down on your spending to be able to afford these excursions, perhaps cutting down on partying and unneeded spending sprees.

Try to choose places that you have never heard of before and don’t be put off by the possibility of people not speaking your language.
