Woman dies following Devon collision

A woman has died following a collision near Okehampton at the weekend.

Police received reports of collision between a Vauxhall Astra and a Renault Clio at around 7.50pm on Sunday 23rd August on the A386 Lydford and Mary Tavy, near Okehampton.

A police spokesman said: "It appears that the Clio was travelling southbound and the Vauxhall northbound when the collision took place. The 34-year old female driver of the blue Renault Clio hatchback was pronounced dead at the scene and two passengers from the car were taken to Derriford Hospital.

"The driver of the silver Vauxhall Astra hatchback was also taken to Derriford hospital with serious injuries, two children who were in the car suffered only minor injuries."

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw the Blue Renault Clio hatchback prior to the collision.
