Westbank delivers hospitality with a heart

Devonwide charity Westbank Community Health and Care is expanding the Conferencing and Hospitality services it offers at its Healthy Living Centre in Exminster, near Exeter.

Best known for its wide range of preventative health initiatives to combat loneliness and social isolation, Westbank also brings people together by providing first-class Conferencing and Hospitality 'with a heart'.  Profits made from these services are ploughed back into the charity’s numerous self-funded community initiatives to support the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across Devon.  These include  Westbank’s extensive programme of guided group Health Walks and the Exercise Referral Programmes delivered by its gym team. 

The charity has recently increased the number of rooms available to hire and now offers three spacious function rooms and three treatment rooms. All of these suites have been refurbished and upgraded, with some benefitting from new infrastructure, for example, Barco dongle connections to allow people to plug in their laptop and show files on large projection screens. 

The three large event spaces are suitable for training sessions and conferencing: the Balcony Room has lovely open views across the estuary, the Events Studio can seat up to 100 people theatre-style, and the newly renovated Activity Room can accommodate up to 50 guests theatre-style. There’s the bonus of on-site and on-street parking. Westbank’s Exminster base is also easy to reach by public transport on the No 2 Stagecoach bus, which stops at Exeter railway station and the city’s bus station. 

Westbank is also investing in the expansion of its hospitality team and is delighted to have welcomed its first hospitality apprentice late last year. The team looks forward to connecting with local businesses and like-minded organisations, many of whom go on to become regular clients. 

All services are tailored to suit clients’ needs and budgets, including a range of refreshments from tea/coffee and biscuits to breakfast with pastries and buffet lunches. Evening and weekend events can also be accommodated across all available rooms.
