More miserable weather to come as the Met office issues a further weather warning for Wednesday.

The Met Office has issued two further yellow weather warnings for rain in Devon but it is expected to clear quickly early Thursday morning.

The Met Office’s Chief Forecaster writes: “A depression will pass northeastwards across the UK on Wednesday and early on Thursday, its associated bands of rain bringing further wet conditions to many areas.

“In particular, 10 to 20 mm of rainfall will fall quite widely in parts of Wales and south west England, with perhaps 30 to 40 mm in the wettest spots. Given current sensitive hydrological conditions, there is a risk of both river and surface water flooding in Devon and Somerset.”

The warning comes into effect from noon tomorrow and is expected to clear by 9am on Thursday.

The wind is expected to stay at lower speeds than in previous days with the average wind speed staying below 20mph.

The rest of the week will see a short cold snap with frosts coming in late Wednesday night which could see icy driving conditions
