Two injured following serious road traffic collision near Honiton

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision near Honiton, which left two people injured.

Officers were called to the A303 at Marsh at 6.25pm yesterday (5 June) after a Ford Focus C-Max car was in collision with a parked and unattended Honda CRV.

The female passenger of the Focus, a 73-year-old woman from Exmouth, sustained serious multiple injuries and was flown by air ambulance to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.

The male driver of the Focus, also 73 and from Exmouth, sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Musgrove Hospital in Taunton. He was later released.

The road was closed for five hours for police to examine the scene and the cause of the collision is being investigated by the Exeter Serious Collisions Investigation Unit.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the Focus travelling from the direction of Ilminster.
