To spread a wave of Christmas joy in celebration of the real trees arriving in-centre, Sidmouth, a Wyevale Garden Centre, have chosen a number of local organisations and community groups to donate a Christmas tree to, with recipients including local schools and medical practices.

The tree donations are a great way for the centre to instil a sense of festive cheer in the community and to highlight the continued support the centre has given to local community groups over the past few years.

Paul Marder, Centre Manager at Sidmouth, a Wyevale Garden Centre says, “We are delighted to have donated Christmas trees to these local organisations. We love Christmas at the centre, so it’s great to be able to spread our Christmas cheer throughout the community! We hope to be able to continue supporting all of our partners next year.”

The centre kick-started their Christmas tree donations with the local Sidmouth College on the 30th of November. The donation is an annual tradition that sees sixth-form students from the college walking their tree from Sidmouth garden centre, through the town and into the college. Once the tree was received and placed, it was decorated by the students themselves.

Paul Marder continues, “The walking of a Christmas tree from our centre to Sidmouth College is a long-standing tradition, and one the sixth form students look forward to being a part of every year!”

A number of local organisations within the Sidmouth community received a traditional Christmas tree over the past week, with special deliveries having taken place at all of these organisations:

·         Sidmouth Town Centre
·         St Francis Church
·         Beacon Medical Centre
·         Sidmouth Primary School (three trees donated to three sites)
·         Sidbury Primary School
·         Sidmouth Hospice (to be displayed in Sidmouth Parish Church)
·         Sidford Church

The Sidmouth Wyevale Garden Centre will be selling a variety of trees at its Real Tree Weekend on 10th-11th December. During these weekends, visitors will be able to:

·         Browse a beautiful range of hand-pruned trees
·         Talk to experts to help pick out your perfect tree
