Members of the local community, residents and their families are invited to a free talk by record-breaking endurance adventurer Louis Alexander on Wednesday, 20th May.

Hosted at Watermeadow Grange care home, part of Cinnamon Care Collection, Louis will explore the power of mindset and the mental resilience required to persevere through the most gruelling moments of his global expeditions. At just 26 years old, Louis holds the historic distinction of being the first and only person to complete marathons across all seven continents and swim marathon distances in all seven seas.

As an Ambassador for Cinnamon Care Collection, Louis is visiting the Exeter-based home to share the extraordinary stories and deep-seated motivation behind these world-first achievements. To accommodate the local community, Watermeadow Grange will host two sessions of the presentation, titled ‘An Audience with Louis Alexander,’ with the first taking place from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and a second session held from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. During these sessions, guests will gain a unique insight into the profound physical and mental demands of elite endurance adventuring.

Beyond his athletic feats, Louis is a dedicated dementia champion currently on a mission to raise £1 million for dementia research over the next four years. This lifelong commitment is a tribute to his grandfather, a former Captain in the British Army, who lived with dementia for 17 years.

The team at Watermeadow Grange is proud to host an event that offers a rare opportunity for people in Exeter and the surrounding areas to meet one of Britain’s most inspiring young figures.

Katherine Stephens, General Manager at Watermeadow Grange, commented: “We are incredibly proud to welcome Louis to our home to share his remarkable journey with the Topsham community. His record-breaking feats are inspiring, but it is his unwavering dedication to dementia research, a cause so close to our hearts at Watermeadow Grange, that makes his story truly resonate.”

While entry to the event is free, spaces are limited and booking is essential to secure a place. Tickets can be booked via Eventbrite.
