Last month Princesshay launched a competition on its website to name its Christmas Polar Bears, a hugely popular feature of the city’s Christmas lights.

More than 250 entries were received, with Clarence (cub) and Hope (Mum) selected as the winning names.

The names were suggested by Joanne Allen from Exeter, who was also the lucky recipient of a £50 Princesshay Gift Card and family pass to the Winter Snow Globe.

Clarence and Hope will continue to light up Princesshay Square through the festive season. The sparkling bears are already the subject of hundreds of photos with shoppers snapping selfies with the pair.

Visitors can also have a photo taken in the Winter Snow Globe located in outside of Debenhams, with a family pass for 4 costing only £10. 10% of all profits from the snow globe will be donated to Princesshay’s charity of the year, The Exeter Deaf Academy.

Polar Bears, Clarence and Hope will be taking to the Princesshay Twitter page every Thursday in the lead up to the big day sharing their tips on places to eat, drink and shop in Princesshay this Christmas.

Stores will stay open for late night shopping until 9pm each Thursday until Thursday 22nd December.
