Police investigate knifepoint robberies

Police are investigating two robberies which both happened at knifepoint on Tuesday 7th September.

The first incident happened just before 10pm on Collett Way where a 27-year-old man was approached by an unknown man who threatened him with a knife, then went through his bag and took his Samsung Galaxy S4 mobile phone.

The suspect was wearing a grey Adidas top with the hood pulled up concealing his face. He is believed to age between 20 and 30 years old.

The second incident took place at Quay Bridge on Forde Road at around 10.20pm.

A 25-year-old man was approached by the suspect with a pocket knife and told to hand over money and valuables. The victim handed over his wallet and the offender made off on foot.

The suspect is described as 20 to 25-years-old, of slim build wearing a hooded top possibly a cap and a balaclava covering his nose.

There is no confirmation that these two robberies are connected but police are keeping an open mind.
