Two cast members from the hugely popular BBC adaptation of Winston Graham’s Poldark have joined the line-up for the Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival later this week.

Heida Reed and Ruby Bentall have announced that they will join the Poldark event on Friday evening at St Peter’s Church. Heida plays Elizabeth (once Ross Poldark's beloved who married his cousin Francis) and Ruby plays Verity Poldark (Ross Poldark's cousin).

Between the 2 Poldark productions, Heida filmed Toast (alongside Jon Hamm) and Icelandic mini-series The Cliff. Heida played the role of Scarlet in ‘Scarlet’ at Southward Playhouse. Ruby's career to date spans across film, theatre and TV series including Larkrise to Candleford, The Paradise and Lost In Austen. Ruby will also star in ITV drama Jekyll & Hyde this autumn.

Heida and Ruby will join Andrew Graham (Winston Graham’s son) and series scriptwriter and executive producer Debbie Horsfield (Making Out, Cutting It, Sex, Chips and Rock'n'Roll) to discuss the series, bringing the characters and the rugged Cornish Coast to life and why they think Winston’s stories of 18th Century Cornwall have endured so long.

Tickets are still available for this event, but book quickly to avoid disappointment. Other authors due to appear at the four day festival include children’s author and artist, Judith Kerr, actress, comedian and writer, Helen Lederer, acclaimed British dramatist David Hare, much loved author Sarah Waters, local writers Jed Falby, Peter Nasmyth and Christine Lee and acclaimed biographers Ruth Scurr and Rachel Holmes.

Tickets for Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival are available online at www.budlitfest.org.uk or can be booked in person or by phone from The Tourist Information Centre: 01395 445 275.
