Overnight road closures on Teign Estuary viaduct

Overnight road closures will be carried out on the A380 at the Teign Estuary viaduct for essential repair work to be carried out this week.

The northbound carriageway of the Teign Estuary viaduct will be closed overnight on Monday 20 May and Tuesday 21 May and both southbound lanes will then be closed on the evenings of Wednesday 22 May and Thursday 23 May in order for the bridge expansion joints to be repaired. The road will be closed from 7.30pm and will re-open by 7am each morning.

Due to the failure of the expansion joints, there has been an emergency lane closure on the inside lane of the Exeter-bound carriageway which has been necessary until repairs could be undertaken.

Advance warning signs are in place and the diversion route will be signed from Penn Inn to Ware Barton via Newton Abbot / Kingsteignton ( Torquay Road, Station Road, Queen Street, The Avenue, Newton Road, Greenhill Way, Vicarage Hill, Teignmouth Road and vice versa).
