Local franchisee David Shawyer and a team of 13 volunteers from his restaurants across Exeter recently came together to plant an impressive 300 trees in Exeter Valley Park. The team embarked on the challenge in a bid to boost the natural woodland, increase the biodiversity of the park and eventually attract more wildlife to the area.

Franchisee David Shawyer who employs 314 members of staff across three restaurants in Exeter, says: “I’d like to thank my staff for giving up their time to be involved in this event. I was proud to see everyone come together in an activity that will benefit our community and future generations.  As a local franchisee I understand the positive impact my business can have in the community, and myself and my staff will keep working to make a real difference to our city.”

McDonald’s franchisees are committed to contributing to their local communities in a range of different ways; from getting involved in community regeneration projects to fundraising for local charities and sponsoring grassroots sports teams.
