This week we have been celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week, which is the world’s largest campaign promoting entrepreneurship.
Since its launch in 2008, Global Entrepreneurship Week has spread across 130 countries, with 7.5 million people expected to attend this year. In the UK alone, 3,000 events are taking place throughout the week, involving more than 300,000 participants. The campaign, which is hosted by Youth Business International in the UK, is designed to advise and support aspiring entrepreneurs, and to encourage entrepreneurship as a career path. From lectures given by the world’s leading business men and women, to start-up competitions and networking events, the campaign creates fantastic opportunities for the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Here at Skyline Marketing, we recognise the importance of events like Global Entrepreneurship Week. As an independent marketing company, specialising in advanced SEO, we are passionate about supporting aspiring entrepreneurs and promoting business as a career. Since the launch of Skyline in January 2011, our company has grown from strength to strength. We have had the privilege of working closely with a range of highly respectable clients, maximising their online presence and driving their company’s success.
Based in The Innovation Centre at The University of Exeter, Skyline is particularly involved with the University and its events. We were honoured to be invited to run a workshop during Global Entrepreneurship Week, allowing us to share our knowledge with a group of motivated students looking to enter the world of business.
The workshop, which was co-hosted by our company director Joe Hibberd, alongside Dan Wiseman, founder of Webwise Media, focused on the importance of SEO and professional web design. Offering our expertise in online marketing, whilst sharing a passion for business with an ambitious group of individuals, made the workshop a fantastic experience for both our company and the students. Joe commented that “engaging with a group of students and hearing about their ambitions for business was great. It will be great to hear that one day, one of the people in the room is the next Steve Jobs!”
Alongside Skyline’s involvement with the University, we strongly believe in creating opportunities for Exeter students and we are proud of the fact that our team consists of a mixture of current students and alumni.
