Local charity, CASS+ marks National Volunteers’ Week 2026
Volunteers’ Week returns this year for the 42nd year. From Monday 1 to Sunday 7 June 2026, CASS+ will join thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK.
Running every year since 1984, the week provides a crucial opportunity to thank volunteers and recognise the value of their time, passion and skills. The campaign highlights the diversity of volunteer work across the UK. The celebrations aim to foster connections, celebrating the spirit of volunteering that enriches communities each year.
This Volunteers’ Week, CASS+ will be celebrating their volunteers, by presenting certificates of achievement at an event at China Fleet Country Club.
Chris Nicholls, Business Manager, said: ‘Volunteers' Week is a chance to recognise the fantastic contribution our volunteers make. Over the last year, the 32 CASS+ volunteers have contributed 3,218 hours of support through court, getting people in crisis the help they need.
Poppy, student volunteer at Exeter Crown and County Court, explains: ‘This volunteering has given me so much understanding of others, especially of mental health. I’ve met new people and learnt many new skills. Volunteering at CASS+ has developed my personal growth. Now I understand people better and have more understanding and compassion.’
