A la Ronde's Christmas Tree Festival is open each weekend from Sunday 30 November until Sunday 14 December.

Over 20 local community groups are decorating their own trees, including the British Legion poppy tree and driftwood creations as well as traditional trees. The event is something for all the family to enjoy with a festive trail, storytelling, live musical entertainment from the La La Choir and River City Chorus and hot drinks. There will also be seasonal crafts for which there will be a small charge of £1.50 per child.

The event, which runs from 11.30am until 4.30pm, is free to attend and includes entry to the grounds and award-winning tea rooms. There will be normal admittance charges in place for the house, with guided tours by our expert room guides every 15 minutes from 12 noon until 3.15pm. Learn about some of the conservation techniques used and see the dining room dressed for the festive season.

Emma Kay, Visitor Experience Manager, said: “We are delighted to invite people to come and enjoy A la Ronde in the run-up to Christmas. We would like to say a big thank you to the A la Ronde Social Club for organising this special festival and to the community groups for taking part.”

A la Ronde is a unique sixteen-sided house with grounds, built under the instructions of the two cousins Jane and Mary Parminter in the eighteenth century. It is full of unusual craft and art work which was collected by the cousins during their ten year European tour.

The house is now open weekends only, up to and including 14 December, with guided tours from 12 noon until 3.15pm. Tea rooms, shop and grounds are open from 11.30am until 4.40pm with last orders at 4pm.

A la Ronde will be closed until Saturday 31 January 2015 and then reopens seven days a week.
