The experience of shopping in Exeter is set to rocket to new heights with the launch of the new John Lewis store on the corner of Sidwell Street, which opens its doors to the public at 9am on Friday 12th October. The Exeter Daily was lucky enough to take a sneak peek around the sophisticated store with manager Kate Connock, whose staff are busily preparing for a smooth launch. Thursday will see the store's partners undertaking a dress rehearsal, but the signs are good as everyone is pulling together to make it happen.

Whether you love or loathe shopping, you can't help but be impressed by the company's commitment to providing a seamless shopping experience, combining the convenience of online shopping with the satisfaction of being able to touch and feel the products. This really is a department store with something for everyone, from high end designer fashion with advisers on hand if you need a little help with your style, to the state-of-the-art technology department featuring the ultimate in home entertainment, the amazing Samsung SUR40, which makes it possible for people to share, collaborate and explore together using a large, thin display that recognizes fingers, hands and other objects placed on the screen.

More news about what's in store at John Lewis tomorrow, but in the meantime enjoy a visual tour.
