What Is Numerology?

Soul Number
The Soul Number is derived from our name and will give us a number when performing a simple maths equation. More specifically you only use the vowels within your name and by assigning each of them a number you can work out what your Soul Number is. There are two ways in which you can discover your soul number that are relatively easy. You can use an online calculator or you can write out your name on a piece of paper and assign all the vowels with the following numbers: A=1, E=5, I=9, O=6, U=3 and Y=7.
Once you’ve assigned all letters with numbers then you need to reduce them down to a single number, do so by adding them together. Let’s use Joe Smith as an example, after assigning the numbers you will be left with 6, 5 and 9. So we add those together which gives us 20. Add the 2 and the 0 together and you have a soul number of 2.

Life Path Number
Much like the Soul Number, the Life Path Number is another that we can discover many interesting things about our personality traits, wants and needs. This number is calculated using our birth date instead of our name and works in a very similar way. We need to reduce the date down to a singular number. Let’s use 16th February 1999 as an example.
16, 2, 1999, are the numbers we get from the date so let us reduce them down. 1+6=7, 2 is fine on its own, and 1+9+9+9=28. Once again we can do the same calculations and reduce the 28 first down. 2+8=10, which means 1+0=1. After that, we are left with 7+2+1=10. So our soul number is 1.
