Gandy Street in Exeter has been transformed with colourful lampshades and festoon lighting, shining a light on the wonderful businesses which adorn this charming, cobblestoned strip.

Tucked away from the crowds in the heart of historic Exeter, Gandy Street is one of the most picturesque and welcoming areas in the city, offering intimate shopping and dining experiences by day and night. Offerings on this trendy street are a mixture of local, independent and well known brands, including jewellery, gifts, clothes & accessories, culinary delights, and of course culture and history thanks to the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) and the vibrant arts venue, Exeter Phoenix.

Businesses to visit include: Moko, Chococo, Crystals, Seasalt, The Recycled Candle Company, Sobeys Vintage Clothing, Red Panda, Bill's, The Cork and Tile, Lefroy Beauty Therapy, and loads more.

This city centre installation organised by InExeter is the first of its kind to come to fruition in the UK. The ambient lampshades, a permanent feature on Gandy Street, will light in the early evening, every evening with the theme changing with the seasons. Picture al fresco dining all summer long, long table food events featuring Gandy Street foodie hotspots and much, much more.

Ann Hunter, BID Manager of InExeter notes: "We are thrilled to bring this colourful installation to Gandy Street, shining a light on all the great independents and businesses that line this corner of Exeter. Into the evening, the lampshades will turn on adding a lovely warming atmosphere as you wine and dine at the brilliantly diverse venues. This is just one of the projects InExeter are delivering to support business and celebrate the city"'

Philippa Rutherford, Business Owner at Mantis, adds: "We hope that this addition to our cosy cobbled strip will further define Gandy Street's footprint in Exeter's shopping & dining scene, and be loved by locals and tourists alike."

With lockdown restrictions coming to an ease, this celebration of glorious Gandy Street and its wonderful residents couldn't have arrived at a better time. Visit this quaint little corner of the city and enjoy lazy mornings, bustling afternoons and glowing evenings.
