Guests enjoyed an afternoon of fun, food and inflatable flamingos when Lympstone Manor celebrated the first anniversary of its pool opening.

Chef and patron Michael Caines MBE welcomed around 160 people to the event with many of them shedding their party gear to take a dip.

His team of chefs rustled up a never-ending conveyor belt of tasty treats ranging from rump steak, pizzas cooked in an outside oven and lobster rolls with mango, lime and curried mayonnaise.

Music came in the form of singer and guitarist Leigh Colemanand a DJ set.

Michael said he could hardly believe 12 months had passed since the official opening party.

He added: “It was wonderful to mark the occasion with so many friends, guests and, of course, my family.”

Celebrity chef Michael proved his talents aren’t just limited to the kitchen when he took to the dancefloor with his son, Joseph, to demonstrate some nifty dance moves.

House membership at Lympstone Manor includes, among many other benefits, access to the outdoor heated pool and pool house, a 10 per cent discount on all food and beverages and a 15 percent discount on overnight stays.

The next major event at Lympstone Manor is The Celebration Of Speed.

From 12 to 12, on July 12, the venue will be open for this exclusive ticketed event.

During the day, guests will be able to explore a large collection of cars, Motorbikes and powerboats.

But the festival itself promises to be anything but speedy: it will be a relaxed, enjoyable and totally unique opportunity to enjoy motorsports, creative cuisine and fabulous local drink all in the unique setting of beautiful Lympstone Manor.
