First steps taken in bid to become a Net Zero Carbon city

People have been giving their feedback on Exeter's bid to become a Net Zero Carbon city by 2030.

The first community engagement event has taken place in the city. A steady flow of people attended the inaugural drop-in session at The Beacon Community Centre in Beacon Lane.

Families and individuals turned up to discuss the Blueprint for a Net Zero Exeter, and identify the everyday challenges and barriers that must be overcome.

Arts organisation Encounters are hosting a series of community drop-in events across the city during February and March.

On Saturday the team will take part in The Big Green Event at Cathedral Green, from 9.30am to 5pm.

Then on Sunday, 23 February, a drop-in consultation session will take place at Piazza Terracina, at Exeter Quay, from 11am to 2pm.

As many people as possible are invited to attend and feed in their thoughts and ideas.

The events are informal, creative and friendly. Encounters bring along its mobile community space called Chrysalis to all the events.

The information shared at these events will provide ideas and information vital to developing the shared city roadmap to a carbon neutral Exeter, at the Net Zero Exeter Mobilisation Summit on 26 March, at Exeter City Football Club.

Drop-in sessions will take place on:

9.30am to 5pm at Cathedral Green (@ The Big Green Event)

Sunday 23 February

11am to 2pm at Piazza Terracina, The Quay

Tuesday 3 March
