
Family pay tribute to teen who died in crash
The family of a Cullompton teenager who died in a motorcycle collision have paid a moving tribute to him.
Eighteen-year-old Mason Jones died from his injuries after the Yamaha motorcycle he was travelling on was involved in a collision at around 10.30pm last Tuesday (22 July) on the A3440 near Uffculme.
His father David and step mother Jo said: “We were privileged to have him as a son, he touched so many people’s lives during his 18 years and we have been truly comforted by the overwhelming gestures, kindness and support from his many, many friends.
“He was a young man wiser than his years, who always saw the good in people, he was such a loveable character who was loved by so many people, old and young.
"He was always on hand to offer a cheery smile and one of his special hugs to make people feel better, sleep tight son we are so proud of you xxx”
His mum Shona and sisters Zoe, Heidi and Cassie, said: “Mason, you have touched so many people.
“Your friends and family have made you proud by celebrating your life with everyone who knew you.
“Your nephews have been doing flips on the trampoline just like you taught them.
“Sky (his niece) has been so desperate to hear the Donald duck voice just one more time.
“You were someone special put on this earth to send love and joy to everyone that you knew.
“Such an amazing young man who will be greatly missed. An inspiration to everyone.
"We will love you forever and always. xxx”
