Exeter to go barking mad for Canonteign Falls Great British Dog Walk
It’s back and it’s bigger and better than ever before!... Exeter is set to go barking mad for this year’s Great British Dog Walk at Canonteign Falls on Sunday 11th June at 10.30am.
The Canonteign Falls Great British Dog Walk is one of 20 fun-filled walks taking place around the UK to help ensure more hearing dogs can be trained to bring life-transforming benefits to deaf children and adults, like Joan Pinder.
Joan, from Taunton, who became deaf at 3 years old due to measles is now enjoying life so much more with her hearing dog Waffle.
Joan Pinder says: “He is more than my ears, he is my best friend, all my family adore him, we enjoy cuddles, walks with or without a ball. I'm sure the walks are helping me to keep fit too”
Around 250 adults and over 25 dogs of all shapes and sizes are expected to take part in this year’s event at Canonteign Falls. There will be a 3km and 8km route making it an ideal event for dog-lovers, families with or without buggies, couples, independent walkers and organised walking groups.
South Wales & South West Community Fundraising Manager, Lauren Maher, says: “This event will be a great way to get dog lovers from all walks of life together for an amazing cause. Without the help of the general public, our charity would not be here. This walk is a chance to thank our supporters as well as show others what our dogs do for those suffering with deafness”.
Refreshments and entertainment will be on offer and participants can also bring a picnic to enjoy after the walk.
There is a free special limited-edition Great British Dog Walk doggie bandana and opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win a luxury Forest Holidays getaway with every event booking.
