Exeter City Ladies will play their FA Women’s Cup second round tie against Swindon Town Ladies at the Devon County FA Headquarters in Newton Abbot, on January 6th (kick-off 1pm).

The Ladies have overcome Forest of Dean and Brislington to get to this stage.  Victory over the Robins would put them in the third round for the first time in their history, where they could potentially draw a team from the Premier League National division.

Swindon, meanwhile, defeated Poole and Chichester to reach the second round.  Both sides play in the South West Combination – the Robins currently lie a position and two points ahead of the Grecians, though Exeter have two games in hand owing to postponed games in this season’s poor weather.

Football Secretary Mike Radford said: “We’re very grateful to the Devon County FA for allowing us to use their pitch.  It’s a very welcome gesture and it’s fantastic to have their backing.

“The facilities at the Coach Road stadium are excellent and the Ladies will really enjoy playing there.  Anyone that saw their display against Brislington at St James Park will have been impressed with the standard so hopefully they’ll attract another big crowd to Newton Abbot.”
