Exeter care home is rooting for the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative

Residents at Cumberland Grange Care Home in Exeter have been branching out in support of the Queen’s Green Canopy, a unique tree planting campaign to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) invites the nation to ‘plant a tree for the Jubilee’ to create a legacy in honour of the Queen’s reign that will benefit future generations.  As well as planting new trees, the QGC will dedicate a network of 70 ancient woodlands across the UK and identify 70 ancient trees to celebrate her 70 years of service.

Michele, General Manager at Cumberland Grange said: “Our garden is a much loved space, residents really enjoy looking after the plants and trees and watching them change through the seasons. Our dedicated gardening team made up of staff and residents work hard throughout the year to keep our garden beautiful and our trees looking their best.  It is amazing the feeling of peace the garden brings to everyone.  We will make sure our latest addition is very well tended, we will all love watching it grow.”

Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.

We’re making our homes as safe as possible and will ensure that all new residents and staff are vaccinated before moving in or working in our homes.  Please do give us a call on 01392 357 270 if you are looking for care or need any further help.
