Exeter based charity Dream-A-way is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and now the “Dream Team” have even more reason to celebrate  as their very special 20th Birthday Ball was a massive success and a record breaker in terms of fundraising.

The event, held at Sandy Park, was greatly enjoyed by nearly 300 guests and raised a record breaking total exceeding  £21,000!

To put this sum into perspective these monies have already enabled the charity  to purchase a brand new, specially adapted, disabled caravan at Sandy Bay which will ensure they are able to provide holidays  for over 100 very special local people each year for the next ten years.

More than 1,000 guests will benefit from this superb new caravan.

Dream-A-Way Chairman Jeff Merrett said “The success of any event such as this is measured not only  in the amount raised , but in the degree of support we are fortunate to receive from so many individuals and companies as very dedicated sponsors. We would like to offer a massive heartfelt thank you to all our supporters for helping us to make the impossible possible.

Valerie Lister the owner of Bicton Park Botanical Gardens added  “I have been a Dream-A-Way Vice President for several years and attended the ball. I was so impressed, that I have now committed myself to joining the Dream Team as a dedicated committee member.”
