Tickets are selling fast for the first ever Devon Wine and Music Festival with folk singer Steve Knightley headlining the September event.

Already 150 out of 500 tickets have been sold for the event where music lovers can enjoy local bands, wine lovers can tickle their tastebuds with wines from six vineyards and local food suppliers will keep foodies happy. Pebblebed is hosting the event at their vineyard in Clyst St George, near Exeter, on September 13/14.

Adam Isaac, who made it through to the quarter final stages of BBC's The Voice, with Sir Tom Jones as coach, will be opening the event which is raising funds for local charity, Hospiscare.

Hospiscare’s Ann Blake said: “This is an exciting new event and will be a fantastic weekend of entertainment, showcasing some of Devon’s finest wines.”

Other artists performing on the Saturday are Julian Piper and Band - internationally recognised blues, local band King Shambles and Gobi, an energetic brass band. Sunday’s line up is: Sam Piper, rock singer/songwriter from Exeter, Wildwood Kin, winners of the Open Mic UK, Chris Hoburn, acoustic player and closing the festival is Steve Knightley the songwriting force behind the successful acoustic roots duo Show of Hands. Vineyards attending are Sharpham, Manstree, Yearlestone, Kenton and Lily Farm.

The event is raising funds for local charity Hospiscare which provides free and specialised nursing to terminally ill people in Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

Hospiscare looks after 650 patients and their families at any one time and needs to raise £5m annually to do this. Limited tickets are available by calling 01392 688 020 or visit www.hospiscare.co.uk
