Devon housebuilder awarded 5 stars for record 17 years
Devon housebuilder, David Wilson Redrow South West has received the maximum 5-star rating in the new Home Builders Federation (HBF) annual new Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey.
This marks the housebuilder’s 17th consecutive year achieving a top 5-star rating – a record unmatched by any other in the industry. To celebrate the milestone, parent company Barratt Redrow is donating £25,000 to the Construction Youth Trust.
Star ratings are based on customer surveys conducted eight weeks and nine months after moving in, measuring satisfaction with both service and build quality. Achieving a 5-star rating means customers of David Wilson Redrow South West report high levels of satisfaction with both their homes and the service they received.
David Wilson Redrow South West is currently building at St Michael’s Meadow in Exeter and Blundell’s Grange in Tiverton. Sales director, Louise Ware, said: “We put the customer at the heart of everything we do, and building high quality homes is fundamental to that. To be rated as a 5-star builder by our customers for 17 years in a row is something we’re incredibly proud of, as it shows just how much our customers love their homes.”
Neil Jefferson, chief executive of the Home Builders Federation, added: “This year’s Customer Satisfaction Survey results reflect the industry’s ongoing commitment to service quality.
Customers are the ultimate judges of performance, so receiving such high scores based on their feedback alone is a significant achievement. While there is always room for further improvement, we welcome the continued investment by home builders in delivering these high levels of customer care.”
The HBF New Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey is one of the largest surveys of its type in the country, with around 50,000 people taking part in it who have recently bought a new build home. The simple 1-5 star rating system was developed to give customers an easy to view ranking of which housebuilders have the most satisfied customers.
The new 5-star rating follows the housebuilder’s success at the NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards. The competition is known as the ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry, with Barratt Redrow site managers last year winning 115 Pride in the Job Quality Awards, more than any other housebuilder for a record 21 consecutive years.
