Motorists with cars in need of some TLC are being encouraged to visit Honiton Gymnastics Club on Saturday 9 June, when the community group’s supporters will be hand-washing cars to raise money for new equipment.

For a suggested donation of £5 for cars and £8 for vans, visitors can leave their cars to be washed until they are as clean as a whistle while they relax in the club’s reception with a cuppa and a bacon sandwich.

“The club is going from strength to strength at the moment,” said James Reddy, high-performance coach and board member of the club, “so raising funds to continually improve equipment and support gymnasts who are travelling further afield to competitions is essential.

“Our Supporters Association is critical to our success – recently funding projects including new floor areas for our recreational gymnasts, somersaulting belts for our competitive gymnasts and financial contributions towards those competing at British Championships and national finals.  The car wash is another great example of how they’re providing a great service to our visitors while raising funds at the same time.”

The Honiton Gymnastics Club Car wash will run from 9am until 2pm on Saturday 9 June at Honiton Gymnastics Centre on Ottery Moor Lane.
