Visitors to this year’s Honiton Show on August 4 could win a prize by estimating the value of an item to be sold at auction in September.

On display at the Chilcotts Auctioneers’ stand, number 28 in Avenue A, will be an antique miniature chest.

Visitors to the stand are invited to take a guess at the price the item will sell for when it goes up for auction at the Chilcotts September 10 ‘Fine Art, Antiques and Collectors’ Items’ sale at the Silver Street Sale Room.

To make a guess, visitors are asked to give one pound and the proceeds will be donated to Hospiscare, the charity that provides support, resources and specialist care for people who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

After the auction, the person who has guessed a figure closest to the selling price will win a £25 M&S voucher.

Chilcotts Auctioneers holds weekly ‘drop in’ auction valuation mornings at the Silver Street Sale Room in Honiton every Friday from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
