Police have released CCTV footage following a sexual assault that took place in Teignmouth.

On Sunday 21 June at around 4.35pm a young woman, wearing shorts and an orange knitted top, was walking along Regent Street in Teignmouth when she was approached by a man who engaged her in conversation.

He asked her for a hug and is alleged to have touched her inappropriately, before she was able to push him away leaving the scene unharmed.

The man is described as being white, in his late 20’s early 30’s and about 5 foot 9 inches tall, medium build with long wavy blond hair.  He was wearing a black t-shirt.

Police are hoping that there may have been witnesses to the incident as the centre of town was very busy with a music festival that day.

CCTV footage can be viewed here.

Anyone who recognises the man in the footage or witnessed the event is asked to email 101@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, quoting reference CR/043437/15
