Cartridges Law continues support for local charity group

Cartridges Law is continuing its support of a project which works with people who have dementia and their carers.

It’s the fourth year the St Thomas-based solicitors have supported the Budding Friends scheme, which is run by Age UK Exeter.

Members of the group were welcomed to the Cartridges Law office for a Christmas social evening, which included a performance by the Big Noise Chorus.

The Budding Friends group is made up of people aged over 50 who have dementia and either a family member or partner as their main carer. The group gets involved in various activities, including tending its own allotment.

Ros Davies, who is a member of the private client team at Cartridges Law, said the firm felt strongly about supporting the project.

She added: ‘It was wonderful to welcome members of the group to our offices. We really enjoy having this special evening and they seem to thoroughly enjoy it as well. It’s just a lovely social occasion, and we’re really pleased to be able to do it for Age UK Exeter.’

Around 40 people attended the festive event, which also included a Christmas raffle.

‘As well as holding our festive evening, our partners support the project by encouraging my colleague Karyna and I, to take time out of the office and join the group working on its allotment, when we get up there with our spades and do the heavy digging.’
