Staff and residents at a Budleigh Salterton residential home have been having a fizzy time creating bath bombs with a local Exmouth business, but in a safe ‘virtual’ way.

During lockdown, all care homes have had to close their doors to family, loved ones and their usual activity visitors.

The dedicated staff and carers have been doing a fantastic job looking after and entertaining residents and to date there have been no cases of covid at the home. To add a little extra to the ‘usual’ in-house activities, Pinewood Residential Home decided to do something different and support a much loved local business, Mrs Snuggles Workshop to get creative and have fun.

Watching Mrs Snuggles ‘virtually’ on a pre recorded video, the residents were able to take part in a fun and interactive bath bomb making session all together.

Philip Sadeghi, director at Pinewood Residential Home, said “All the team here at the home have been working so hard and have been pulling out all the stops to keep our residents safe and entertained. Our Manager Sally came up with the idea of inviting Mrs Snuggles to host a virtual bath bomb making experience. We know how important it is to support local businesses at the moment and this was the perfect opportunity to do just that and provide a great afternoon for our residents too.

“It was such a fun and creative time for all of us. We all loved getting stuck in and creating some amazing bath bombs, the smell was divine! After the session, the residents wrapped up their bath bombs and sent them to their loved ones with a personal message. It really made everyone smile.”
