It will probably turn out to be the best £5 motorcycle fan Blair Swinhoe will ever spend –  after it won him a £35,000 Ducati mean machine.

The 25-year-old was named the winner of a unique competition which was run by a Devon couple who are also offering the opportunity for someone to win their £2.3m mansion for £10 a ticket.

Blair collected his limited edition Ducati Penigale V4 Speciale from GT Motorcycles in Plymouth.

A spokesperson for Ogilvie Promotions, who are behind both the bike and house competitions, said: “We are delighted for Blair. Despite this being something very new, it was really well supported and seemed to capture the imagination of the biker community.”

Blair, from Scotland, said he was impressed with how the Ducati For A Fiver competition had been run, especially the live Facebook draw.

So how did he enjoy the 618-mile return trip on his new pride and joy, with a top speed of 190 mph??

“The forecast was so bad I took it back in a van with a top speed of 60mph,” he quipped.

The Ogilvie Promotions team will be donating 20 per cent of the proceeds from the competition to two charities – Make A Wish UK and the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes.

And there is still plenty of time to enter their Millionaire Mansion draw which promises to make one lucky person’s Christmas unforgettable with a house in the Devon countryside, a Rolls Royce, wine cellar, pool, staff, stamp duty and all bills paid for a year including stamp duty.

On top of that, and just to make sure you enjoy yourself in style, they are also throwing in £50,000… and if you choose to sell in 12 months, they have an estate agent on standby, ready to assist.
