Baroness backs Exeter City Futures

Jenny Jones, Baroness Jones of Moulsecoomb visited Exeter City Futures offices to meet with their CEO & Founder Glenn Woodcock.

Baroness Jones of Moulsecoomb was in the area visiting the Exeter Green Party and was very keen to find out more about Exeter City Futures and the exciting projects that they are working on.

Baroness Jones has written a letter of support for Exeter City Futures to Karime Hassan Chief Executive and Growth Director at Exeter City Council and has also raised the merits of the bold goals and aspirations of Exeter City Futures to the Green Party leader Caroline Lucas.

Baroness Jones of Moulsecoomb’s most successful roles were as the Mayor’s Green Transport Adviser (2004-2008) and Road Safety Ambassador (2001-2008) which aligns well with the goal of Exeter City Futures to make Greater Exeter congestion free by 2025.

Exeter City Futures is a community interest company whose goal is to help cities find new solutions to complex challenges while supporting economic growth. It has been founded by Oxygen House, an Exeter-based business, and is working in partnership with Exeter City Council.

Its bold goal is to make Exeter energy independent and congestion free by 2025. This goal will require all parts of the City, leadership, educational institutions, businesses and individuals to work together using forward looking analytics to identify the key challenges that need to be
solved.
