Animated Exeter opener rained off
Tonight’s opening event of the Animated Exeter has been called off as a result of the severe weather.
The free open-air ‘LIGHTSTREAM’ show was expected to be held on Fore Street in Exeter this evening but organiser have cancelled the event in light of safety concerns of crowding as onlookers sheltered from the rain.
Organisers are still hoping to hold the show tomorrow evening, on Fore street between 7pm and 9pm, as the weather is expected to be milder.
‘LIGHTSTREAM’ is a show by BAFTA award-winning artist and filmmaker, Tal Rosner and students from animation courses across the South West.
Rosner worked with the students to create a show made of layers of visuals and sound which are projected onto the buildings on Fore Street.
Tal Rosner started his career doing the titles for the iconic television series ‘Skins’, and now works on contemporary art, video, opera and dance collaborations all over the world.
Sadly a talk by the artist to be held at the Spacex gallery on Saturday has also had to be cancelled.
