Teign leisure centres to open bank holidays
Newton Abbot Leisure Centre, Broadmeadow Sports Centre and Dawlish Leisure Centre will open their doors on bank holidays from now on, giving people more choice about when they visit the centres to use the gym, swim or take part in fitness classes.
Cllr George Gribble, Teignbridge District Council’s Executive member for recreation and leisure, said: “We are delighted to offer the extended service which will help members stay healthy and achieve their fitness goals as well as getting even better value for money. Our memberships are reasonably priced and with a wide range on offer, there’s something for everyone.
“We are preparing for a really busy Christmas season with events and activities planned over the Christmas holidays. “This is a wonderful opportunity for parents and children in Teignbridge to experience what our leisure centres have to offer during the festive holiday.”
The additional opening hours are in response to customer requests. The exception to this is when centres will close on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
The Teignstarz Holiday Club is available at Newton Abbot Leisure Centre from Monday 21 December – Wednesday 23 December. This offers parents the perfect opportunity to keep their children entertained whilst they finish off any last minute shopping.
The fitness suites are running Christmas workouts throughout December to help people reach their goals or kick-start their New Year resolutions.

Thurs 31 Dec 3pm close
Fri 1 Jan Closed
Sat 2 Jan Normal opening resumes
