Play tennis for free in Exeter

It’s Wimbledon fortnight and Exeter City Council is encouraging people to dig out their tennis rackets and get down to one of the 13 free-to-use courts across the city.

They’re located at Heavitree Pleasure Ground, King George V Playing Fields and beside Matthews Hall in Topsham. Three courts at Cowick Barton Playing Fields are currently being re-surfaced and will be ready to use in the coming weeks.

Two years ago, Exeter became the most active city in the South West and now the city is striving to become the most active city in England.

Only last November, Sport England announced that Exeter and the East Devon new town of Cranbrook, was one of 12 places selected to work on a ground-breaking new approach to tackle inactivity in communities.
