Two PE teachers have developed a new initiative for the sporting youth of Devon to develop their performance, whatever their sporting background.

Aimed at boys and girls aged 13 – 16, Complete Sports Preparation (CSP) aim is to improve the physical capabilities of athletes through agility, strength, power, speed and injury prevention work.

Becci Carter and Ed Jones, PE teachers with a combined 18 years of coaching experience between them, currently teach at Exeter School and were keen to make the most of the school’s ample grounds and facilities for their CSP sessions.

Ed explained: “We want to offer young athletes the chance to develop their own abilities in order to help them achieve their full potential, in a supportive environment.

“We look at each athlete individually, ensuring they can develop physically and mentally at a pace that suits their body. We want to offer the 'extra' margins of physical performance that many sports clubs don't have the time to offer".

Becci added: “We give young people the tools to become well rounded, injury free, mentally strong, ambitious performers".

And uniquely for a sports camp, CSP’s focus is solely on becoming quicker, stronger and more agile rather than developing sport specific skills, and of benefit to all aspiring young sports men and women.

Taster sessions will run over the summer holidays at Exeter School; three four--hour sessions on 9 & 23 August and 6 September cost just £75.

Future courses will take place during the school holidays with monthly top up sessions thereafter.
