Exeter School Sixth Formers Tom and Will Counsell enjoyed a life changing experience in Swaziland.

The brothers spent four weeks as rugby coaches working with the Swaziland-based charity SKRUM, whose aim is to give the school children of Swaziland social awareness and sex education while having fun and playing rugby.

They found the experience quite overwhelming at times, but genuinely believe that SKRUM makes a difference on a daily basis.

The duo raised in excess of £1,700 which will pay for a water bore hole at the charity's new headquarters. It will not only provide water for drinking, but will keep the new national pitch watered!

An absolute bonus was the opportunity for both boys, who are on the school's 1st XV rugby team of which Tom is captain, to represent Swaziland at rugby.

Tom played five matches for the U19 against English schools touring sides and Will played for Swaziland U16.

The boys have since been asked to help coach an U11 school boy team that are representing Swaziland here in the UK at the beginning of October in an International festival.

As a result of their enthusiasm, six tourists have enquired about volunteering with SKRUM next year!
