Council to offer garden and landscaping services to householders in Exeter

Householders in Exeter may soon be able to take advantage of a variety of council-run garden and landscaping services.

Exeter City Council is looking to broaden out a number of its services like landscape gardening and path and patio laying.

“The City Council is a trusted and established brand,” said Cllr David Harvey, Lead Councillor for City Management.

“And what we have built up over the years in our parks and open spaces, is a highly experienced team capable of delivering some first class projects across the city,” he added.

From April the Council is planning to trial a number of paid-for services and is really keen to hear from householders who might be interested in the following:

  • Garden clearance
  • Garden design and layout
  • Gates and Fencing
  • Paths and patios
  • Hedge cutting

The Council often receives requests from members of the public but up to now hasn’t carried out private work.

Cllr David Harvey added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for people to tap into a range of new services with the reassurance that they are buying into trusted brand with a great track record in delivering schemes throughout Exeter.”
