This festive season, families in Exeter will be able to follow an augmented reality story-trail around the city.

As part of local plans to give families a fantastic festive break, InExeter and Visit Exeter have teamed up to provide a free interactive trail for families. Working with High Street Safari, InExeter and Visit Exeter have launched a unique, free trail in Exeter ready for the Christmas holidays.

The Hunt for the Lost Toys trail is an innovative experience that lets families choose what happens in the story as they follow the trail. 10 very odd Christmas presents have gone missing. Use your smartphone to track them down, solve the mystery and release cheeky imps from inside in this amazing, festive story trail. At each stop the kids have some fun taking selfies with silly Christmas hats and revealing the characters in augmented reality.

The Hunt for the Lost Toys Christmas trail is just one of the experiences on offer, free of charge on the High Street Safari platform. It contains over a dozen outdoor story-trails and games to enjoy in Exeter. The idea behind the platform is to encourage families to get out and visit Exeter city centre with free, exciting experiences.

The trail follows a route of ten stops around the city centre, so parents can enjoy a bit of shopping along the way, whilst the kids have some fun! The trail takes about forty-five minutes to complete but can be completed in more than one visit. It’s completely free to take part in and those taking part win a free, digital fun pack at the end.

The trail works without the need to download or sign up to anything and works on any smart device.

The trail launched on Monday 19th December. To find out more about the trail, visit www.visitexeter.com.
