Taylor Wimpey creates new football pitch for Exeter College

Taylor Wimpey is investing almost half a million pounds in Exeter's sporting stars of the future through the development of new facilities for Exeter College.

The housebuilder is creating a new pitch and changing rooms for the college as part of its Riverside Walk development off Wear Barton Road.

The ground was levelled last year and the pitch has now been seeded. The changing rooms are currently under construction and both should be ready for handover to the college by the summer, weather permitting.

Once open, the pitch will be available for the community to book. Taylor Wimpey's total investment in the facilities is approximately £468,000.

Richard Harrison, Land and Planning Director for Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: "Creating new facilities for the communities around our developments is a key priority for us, and we are pleased to be working with Exeter College on their new football pitch and changing rooms.

"Work is progressing well and we are looking forward to handing over the facilities this summer, ready for students to make the most of. Riverside Walk itself is coming together really nicely, and it's been great to see the first residents move in and start to create a new community in this part of the city."

Once open, the new pitch can be booked by contacting the college's commercial bookings team on bookings@exe-coll.ac.uk or by calling 01392 400456/400451.

Riverside Walk is off Wear Barton Road, Exeter, Devon, EX2 7EH. Visit www.taylorwimpey.co.uk for more information.
