Local charity Rainbow Living are thrilled to have been presented with a cheque for £2,375 from Teign Valley Golf Club, following a year of fundraising as one of the club’s charities for the year 2015.

This amazing amount was raised from a series of fundraising events organised by Teign Valley Golf Club throughout the year, including charity golf days, raffles and a silent auction.  Ted Ridgeway, Derek Hathaway and Maggie Thompson from Teign Valley Golf Club were delighted to present the cheque to Ruth Airdrie from Rainbow Living.

All of the money raised will be put towards the total needed for the charity to purchase a third Rainbow House, enabling a group of young learning disabled adults to live with their peers in supported living within the local community.

Ruth Airdrie from Rainbow Living said: “We would like to express our sincere thanks to Teign Valley Golf Club and to all those who supported the fundraising events.  We are very grateful to have been one of the club’s beneficiaries this year – it really is an incredible amount raised!”

Derek Hathaway, Captain of the Seniors section of Teign Valley Golf Club, said: “We are proud to have been able to support such a fantastic local cause and delighted to have helped raise money for Rainbow Living’s third house.  We wish the charity every success in the future.”
