Exeter Deaf Academy seeks Rock Solid support

Have you set yourself a New Year challenge? Are you looking to do something to help others or possibly put your body through the ultimate endurance test? If you’ve answered yes to either question then Exeter Deaf Academy could have the challenge for you!

The Deaf Academy is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help marshal Rock Solid at Escot Park on either 21 or 22 March 2015. Possibly one of the muddiest obstacle course races in the UK, competitors can enjoy a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ experience battling oceans of mud and contending with 9 ingeniously designed water obstacles amongst many others. An unbeatable sense of fun and satisfaction, the punishing Escot terrain will live in competitors’ memories forever – in a good way!

In exchange for providing volunteers at this year’s Rock Solid event, Exeter Deaf Academy will receive a limited number of free charity places. Having grown to be a two-day event, Rock Solid includes a 5k, 10k or 15k race. If you think Rock Solid is just for the boys – think again! 50% of last year’s entrants were women so everyone can rise to the challenge. We are asking anyone who is interested in taking part in aid of the Academy to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship.

If you are interested in volunteering or taking part in Rock Solid as a competitor and being part of the Exeter Deaf Academy Team, please get in contact with the Deaf Academy’s Fundraising Team at fundraising@exeterdeafacademy.ac.uk or 01392 267059.
