Event Exeter at the University of Exeter has improved its customer communication, in recognition of today’s fast-paced, ever changing events market.

With 72% of tablet owners purchasing online every week, websites now need to be not only responsive, but they have to provide relevant information, availability, answers to questions and the opportunity for customers to tell the supplier just what they think. It is estimated that by 2020 over 50,000,000,000 devices will be connected to the internet.

The new Event Exeter website offers a one stop shop for information and communication, where customers can quickly and easily find their perfect venue, book bed and breakfast or simply find out the latest news and market trends through the blog.

Kate Jane, Event Exeter Digital Marketing Co-ordinator said, “It’s not that we don’t like talking to people, in fact quite the opposite. But we know that people are busy and we can’t afford to sit still, we’re moving with the times. Our new website offers visitors easy navigation and instant information, from venue availability, images and layouts, to tips on how to organise a successful conference. It provides an enhanced online experience and adds value for the customer.”

Recognising the dramatic changes to websites since they first appeared in the early ‘90s, Event Exeter are investing in digital communication, but not to the detriment of the more traditional communication methods, with the team still being just at the end of the phone.
