A new survey released today by UIA Mutual Insurance reveals that when we aren’t leaving our keys with other people, many of us will hide them in hidden locations outside of our house. The most popular hiding places are under a flower pot (14%), under the doormat (12%) and in the garden shed (7%). According to figures from ONS, 70% of home intruders in the UK gained entry through a household door, and 30% and through a window.

Redrow Homes has planted a special fruit orchard at its stunning Saxon Brook development to provide a welcome home for bumblebees whose numbers have been declining in recent years.

The award-winning housebuilder has planted 70 trees designed to create a perfect bee habitat in time for the spring, including several apple, plum and pear species.

Barratt Homes reinforces position as the UK’s most recommended housebuilder

Local housebuilder Barratt Homes has received the maximum 5 star rating in the new Home Builders Federation (HBF) annual New Homes Survey.

The number of stars awarded is based on responses to the question “would you recommend your builder to a friend?” For Barratt to have been awarded 5 stars means that more than 90% of its customers would recommend their homes to a friend.

Survey reveals significant number of Brits opting to share bedrooms with their beloved animals

Pet owners just can’t bear to be apart from their animals at night according to a new survey - with nearly a quarter of those asked allowing their companions to sleep with them in the bedroom.

Five star housebuilder Barratt Homes, which is bringing new homes to Exeter, carried out the survey, asking 2,000 people where their pets generally sleep. A significant 23 per cent said the bedroom, closely followed by 20 per cent allowing them to spend the night in the lounge. East Devon residents can now sign up online to a new fortnightly green waste collection service which is being introduced by the district council from Monday May 14.

Our kerbside collection will make it so much easier for East Devon’s green fingered residents to dispose of their green waste, which will be composted in East Devon and used by local farms.

Over the next few days, the district’s 69,000 households will each receive a bin hanger giving more details of the new service which will cost £48 a year, with an introductory offer of a free 240ltr green bin.
