The New Year is here, which means it’s the perfect time to start making some big changes and where better to begin than your home?

A home revamp project can be difficult to get off the ground, so here are five creative home transformation tips to get you started.

Update your colour scheme

Updating your colour scheme is a fast and effective way to enhance the look and feel of your home. It adds character and leaves your walls looking fresh and fabulous.

So if your walls are looking a little dirty and dated, now’s the perfect time to crack out the roller and start repainting.

You should choose colours that really showcase your personality. If you’re in need of some inspiration, head to a paint store such as B&Q and get some tester pots.

Get some wall art

Freshly painted walls look fabulous, however, without a bit of decoration, they can end looking a bit bland and boring after a while. Putting up some wall art is therefore a great idea.

This could be anything from canvases, to plaques or photos – whatever suits your individual tastes and will most effectively bring life to your walls.

And nohouse is truly a home without a dedicated gallery wall, covered with fantastic photos of your nearest and dearest.

Use stone

Stone is a fantastic durable material that allows you introduce elements of nature into your home.

One of the coolest ways to use stone in your home is to install a stone feature wall. It makes a great focal point for any room and will leave your house oozing with style.

Furthermore, stone makes a great floor surface for your kitchen – it’s easy to clean, long-lasting and helps keep allergens such as dust out at bay.

Reposition your furniture

Changing the layout of your furniture instantly changes the aesthetic of a room and saves you from forking out on expensive new pieces.

For example, you can move larger furniture items such as your sofa closer to the wall and place your coffee table in the centre of the room. Such changes open up a space and provide a sense of harmony and balance to your home.

Get outside

The outside of your home is just as important as the inside, so don’t forget to head outdoors and spruce up your garden.

A great place to begin is with some flowers – they immediately lift an outdoor space and if you opt for low maintenance ones such as daylilies and cosmos, minimal effort will be required in taking care of them.

Another great way to enhance your garden aesthetic is to create a gravel path. With so many types of stone to choose from you’ll be able to create something truly spectacular, so check out an aggregate supplier such as Marchington Stone and get creative.
